Minjiang River Night Cruise
Minjiang River Night Cruise, launched in 2005, is Fuzhou’s premier evening attraction. Departing from Xindou Wharf, the 1.5-hour cruise sails along the Minjiang River, offering panoramic views of Fuzhou’s skyline, historic bridges, and cultural landmarks. Dubbed the "Venice of the East," the route highlights the river’s role as a cradle of Minyue culture, with modern LED light shows illuminating ancient wharves and temples.
Historical Overview
The cruise route traces the Minjiang’s 1,800-year history as a trade artery. Xindou Wharf, rebuilt in 2003, revives the site’s Ming Dynasty role as a maritime hub. In 2010, the cruise introduced themed voyages combining Tea Culture and Fuzhou opera. Recent upgrades (2022) added augmented reality (AR) projections on water screens, blending history with technology.
