Itinerary
Day 1: Xi'an → Xicha Grand Canyon (overnight in Yan'an)
In the morning, we set off from Xi'an and headed north to the Yucha Grand Canyon. This wonder of the ground cracks hidden in the Loess Plateau has been washed and cut by hundreds of millions of years of water, and the texture of the rock walls in the canyon is winding, and the sun penetrates the gaps at noon, projecting dreamlike light and shadow, and hiking in it is like breaking into the art palace of nature. After the tour, take a bus to Yan'an city to check in and rest your body and mind.

Day 2: Yan'an → Wave Valley → Yan'an (Overnight in Yan'an)
Depart from Yan'an in the early morning for Jingbian Wave Valley, renowned for its red Danxia landforms. The red sandstone, eroded over time, forms flowing, layered patterns, resembling the rings of the earth. Stroll through the core areas such as Flame Danxia and Earth Core Danxia; every snapshot is a breathtaking masterpiece. In the evening, return to Yan'an by car and stay at a hotel in the city, where you can freely sample the local Shaanxi cuisine.

Day 3: Yan'an → Hukou Waterfall (overnight in the scenic area)
After bidding farewell to Yan'an, we drove to Hukou Waterfall. As a landmark of the Yellow River, the rushing water plunges into a narrow stone trough, creating a misty spray that shakes the heavens and the earth. If you're lucky, you might even witness a rainbow refracted by the mist. After immersing ourselves in the majestic power of the Mother River, we checked into accommodation near the scenic area, concluding our Shaanxi trip to the sound of the Yellow River.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic!
Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale.
For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.

Would it be possible to add extra days to the itinerary?
My hu**and and I will be in Xi’an in early May and are looking for the opportunity to visit Yucha Grand Canyon, Hukou Waterfall, Jingbian Wave Valley, Guoliang Village, and, if possible, a nearby gorge as well, preferably with a scenic glass walkway (Tianzhugou, Hongshi Gorge). We have 5–6 days available. Could you please make us an offer for transfers and accommodations for an itinerary of this kind?
