  •  Arrival in Chengdu – The Land of Abundance
  • Hotel: 4+stars Hotel
  • Meals:None

Arrive in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province and the unofficial home of the giant panda. Your private driver will be waiting in the arrival hall, ready to take you away from the bustling airport to your comfortable hotel in the city center. You can use the remaining time to adjust to the time difference. If you can already smell the aroma of Sichuan peppercorns, take a stroll nearby. The city has a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere—find a local restaurant, order a bowl of hearty wonton soup, and experience the rhythm of China.

  • Giant Panda Base, Jinli Ancient Street, and People's Park with Optional Sichuan Opera
  • Hotel: 4+stars Hotel
  • Meals:Breakfast

  • Morning: Rise early—the pandas are most active and delightfully clumsy before the midday heat sets in. We'll head straight to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. You'll wander through bamboo groves watching these black-and-white icons munching bamboo, tumbling over each other, or napping in tree branches. It’s an absolute "aww"-inducing spectacle you won't find anywhere else on earth.

  • Afternoon: Dive into the hustle of Jinli Ancient Street. While the architecture dates back to the Qing Dynasty, the vibe is pure modern street food heaven. Weave through the crowd as we sample local snacks: try a skewer of spicy rabbit meat, a crispy "Military Pot Helmets" flatbread, or a sweet "Three Cannon" sticky rice ball.

  • Evening: Unwind like a true local at People's Park. Find a bamboo chair by the lake at the historic Heming Teahouse. Your guide will show you how to sip a Gaiwan (lidded bowl) tea properly while watching retirees play cards and parents arrange blind dates for their children in the "matchmaking corner." If you choose the optional ticket, we'll cap the night with a mesmerizing Sichuan Opera performance, featuring the legendary, lightning-fast Face Changing magic.

Wave goodbye to the Sichuan Basin as we journey northwest into the foothills of the Tibetan Plateau. The scenery shifts from cityscape to dramatic mountain passes. Upon arrival, we head straight to Huanglong National Park. Be prepared to have your breath taken away—both by the altitude and the view. We'll take the cable car up and walk down through the Five-Color Pools. The description "turquoise gemstone terraces" is an understatement; this is water so vividly blue and yellow-green due to mineral deposits that it looks digitally enhanced. Watch as the calcium carbonate formations cascade down the valley like the golden scales of a sleeping dragon. After soaking in the surreal landscape, we descend to Jiuzhaigou Valley for a restful night in the crisp mountain air.

  • Full Day Exploration of Jiuzhaigou National Park & Return to Chengdu
  • Hotel: 4+stars Hotel
  • Meals:Breakfast

Today is dedicated entirely to Jiuzhaigou ("Valley of Nine Villages"). This is not just a park; it's a natural cathedral of water. You'll board the internal park shuttle bus to hop between the main sites.

  • Highlights: Stand before Nuorilang Waterfall, a majestic curtain of water you might recognize from countless Chinese paintings. Walk the wooden plank trails around Five Flower Lake—the water is so clear you can see ancient fallen trees crisscrossing the sapphire bottom like sleeping giants.

  • Experience: Breathe in the oxygen-rich air mixed with the scent of pine and Tibetan incense. You'll have free time to find a quiet spot by Long Lake or watch the mirrored reflection of the jagged peaks in Mirror Lake. In the late afternoon, after we've walked off the map of stunning views, we'll board our private vehicle for the return journey to Chengdu (approx. 7-8 hours drive, a necessary transit to unlock the next stage of adventure).

  • Transfer to Chongqing & Evening at Raffles City, Kuixinglou & Hongyadong
  • Hotel: 4+stars Hotel
  • Meals:Breakfast

Board a high-speed train this morning for the short ride to Chongqing—the sprawling "Mountain City" built on steep hills and the confluence of two great rivers.

  • Afternoon: Get ready for vertical living. Visit Raffles City, a futuristic horizontal skyscraper bridging four towers. Then, discover the mind-bending geography of Kuixinglou. From the entrance on the 1st floor, walk to the back exit and suddenly... you're on the 22nd floor looking down at a street below. That's Chongqing!

  • Evening: As dusk falls, we head to the riverside for the main event: Hongyadong. With its layers of stilted houses illuminated in warm gold and red, this place is a dead ringer for the bathhouse in Studio Ghibli's Spirited Away. Watch the Jialing River shimmer below as you soak in the neon-drenched, cyberpunk-meets-ancient-China atmosphere. For a local snack, try the grilled cold noodles or sour and spicy sweet potato noodles from a street vendor nearby.

  • Eighteen Steps, Liberation Monument, Liziba Monorail & Baixiangju
  • Hotel: 4+stars Hotel
  • Meals:Breakfast

  • Morning: Start with the Eighteen Steps. This steep, stone staircase is the soul of old Chongqing, connecting the upper city with the river wharf below. Watch porters haul goods and locals gossip on the steps—it’s a living museum of the city's "Bang Bang" porter culture.

  • Midday: Stand at Jiefangbei (Liberation Monument) , the commercial heart of the city, surrounded by towering glass malls that contrast sharply with the morning's old stairways.

  • Afternoon Thrill: Experience the Liziba Monorail Station. From the street, you'll see a futuristic train silently disappear into the belly of a 19-story residential apartment building. It's an engineering marvel that has to be seen (and filmed) to be believed.

  • Wrap-up: Explore Baixiangju, a residential complex built in the 1990s that has become an Instagrammer's paradise. Its intertwining corridors and bridges between three identical towers offer perfect framing of the Yangtze River Cableway gliding overhead.

  • The Walk of Faith: We'll step out onto the Glass Skywalk clinging to the cliff's edge. The only thing between you and a 1,400-meter drop is a few inches of clear glass. Listen for your own heartbeat.

  • Heaven's Door: We'll ride the impossibly long escalator carved inside the mountain to emerge at Tianmen Cave (Heaven's Door) , the world's highest natural arch. Standing in the mouth of this giant hole in the mountain, you truly feel like you've stepped into another world.

  • Into the Valley: Descend to walk the tranquil Golden Whip Stream. The path is flat and shaded, following a crystal-clear creek. Look up and you'll see the rock spires that inspired the floating Hallelujah Mountains in James Cameron's Avatar. Keep an eye out for wild macaque monkeys!

  • Imperial Views: We'll take a shuttle and cable car up to Tianzi Mountain to view the "Imperial Brush Peaks" bathed in the golden afternoon light. It's a panorama of jagged karst towers stretching to the horizon.

Walk on glass panels covering ancient roadbeds from the Song and Ming Dynasties while snacking on roasted chestnuts. Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
