If time permits, you can freely explore some of Chengdu's most iconic areas. Stroll through Chunxi Road, a bustling shopping street filled with modern boutiques and street snacks. Wander into Kuanzhai Alley to admire traditional courtyard architecture and taste local treats. At night, head to Fuqin Night Market or Jiuyan Bridge to experience the city’s lively food culture and nightlife atmosphere.

Welcome to Chengdu, which is known as the "Land of Abundance".

In the morning, you will go to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. This is not only a scientific research base for pandas around the world, but also a cozy home for more than a hundred of pandas. You will be able to observe pandas of all ages eating, playing, rolling on the ground and climbing trees.

In the afternoon, you will step into Chengdu People's Park to experience the unique leisure and ease of this city. Here you can order a pot of tea and take a nap or join the local people in a game of mahjong and experience the ear cleaning service.

Next, we drove to Wuhou Shrine, which is known as the "mecca of the Three Kingdoms" The most venerated memorial of Zhuge Liang, Liu Bei and other important Shu Han individuals. It is not only an important carrier of the Three Kingdoms culture, but also a treasure of ancient Chinese architectural and sculptural art.

As night falls, you will step into the Jinli street, which has ancient buildings, lots of Chengdu snacks and cuisines, and exquisite handicrafts that are lively and interesting folk performances. You will spend an unforgettable night here.

In the morning, take a high-speed train from Chengdu to Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province. The journey takes about 3.5 hours. Upon arrival, your driver will greet you at the station and take you to the city center.

Your first stop will be the historic Jiaxiu Pavilion, a 400-year-old structure standing gracefully over the Nanming River. It has long symbolized Guiyang’s culture and literary heritage. The pavilion is connected by a stone bridge and surrounded by calm waters, making it a peaceful retreat within the city.

After that, take a walk to Qingyun Market, just one kilometer away. Once known as Guiyang’s “midnight canteen,” this area is a hub of local street food and evening fun. Here, you can sample Guizhou’s flavorful cuisine, such as sour soup fish, rice tofu, and spicy noodles.

Evening Option:

Spend the evening immersing yourself in the local night market culture at Qingyun Market. It's a great place to mingle with locals, taste authentic Guizhou dishes, and enjoy a relaxed, lively atmosphere under lantern-lit streets.

Huangguoshu Waterfall--Doupotang Waterfall--Tianxingqiao Scenic Area

After breakfast, depart from Guiyang and head west via the Hukun Expressway to the famous Huangguoshu Waterfall Scenic Area. This is one of the largest waterfall groups in Asia and a top highlight in Guizhou Province.

Your visit begins with the main waterfall, Huangguoshu, which plunges 77.8 meters with a width of 101 meters. You can walk along the specially designed paths to enjoy close-up views and even go behind the falls through a natural cave. The thunderous roar and mist create an unforgettable scene.

Next, continue to the Tianxingqiao Scenic Area, where limestone formations, caves, and lush vegetation blend into a dreamlike karst landscape. Finally, visit Doupotang Waterfall, known for its broad 105-meter crest and cinematic appearance in the 1986 TV series Journey to the West.

Recommended Activities:

Bring a raincoat or poncho to better enjoy the waterfall paths and photo opportunities. End your day by enjoying a peaceful countryside dinner in Anshun before returning to Guiyang for the night.

Start with a visit to Bai Xiang Lou, a surreal residential complex where the light rail glides right through the building. It perfectly demonstrates Chongqing’s vertical architecture and seamless integration of modern infrastructure and everyday life.

Next, head to the Dongshuimen City Wall Ruins. These aged stones once defended the ancient city and now offer a glimpse into Chongqing’s rich history. Walk along the remains and feel the resilience that shaped this city through wars and floods.

Afterward, take a ride on the Yangtze River Cableway for sweeping views of the river and skyscrapers, suspended high above the water. As night falls, arrive at Hongya Cave, a multilevel complex of traditional stilt houses lit up with dazzling lights. Built against the cliff and overlooking the Jialing River, it is a haven for street food, souvenirs, and local culture.

In the early morning light,  you will step into the Eighteen Stairs, which is full of historical flavor. The stone paths here have gone through vicissitudes of life, and each piece of green stone plate records the stories of the past. The old houses on both sides of the street are mottled, but you can still see the prosperity of the past. The small stores along the street are bustling with all kinds of handicrafts and local snacks, and the air is filled with tantalizing aromas.

After the Eighteen Stairs, We will then take you to Jiefangbei, the commercial center of Chongqing and a symbol of the city. The towering monument gleams in the sunlight, and the surrounding skyscrapers showcase the city's modernity and prosperity. You can stroll through the busy streets, admire the various stores and billboards, and feel the fashion and vitality of the city.

In the late afternoon, we will bring you to the scene of the spectacle of the Liziba Light Railway passing through the buildings. This incredible sight is breathtaking as the LRT train slowly passes through the residential buildings. You can stand on the observation deck to get a close-up view of this mind-blowing scene and feel the harmonious coexistence between modern transportation and ancient architecture.

Finally, as night falls, we will take you to the old town of Ciqikou. The town is full of lights and people, and is filled with a rich historical and cultural atmosphere. You can stroll along the green stone road and admire the ancient buildings and the wide range of handicraft stores. Taste the authentic Chongqing snacks in front of the food stalls in the ancient town and feel the unique spicy and fresh aroma. In the teahouse to listen to a Sichuan opera face-changing performance is to appreciate the unique charm of the Bayu culture.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
