Origin: From Animal Habitat to Conservation Pioneer

Furong Ancient Town

The Name of the Original Intent - The Green Dream of the Hong Kong River: The foundation of Longlong Wildlife World, located in Hong Kong, was the "Hong Kong Wildlife World" that opened in 1997. Its original intention originated from a profound concern for wildlife protection and public natural education. In the context of the time when most animals were displayed in cages in China, it was the first to introduce the advanced concept of "harmonious coexistence between animals and nature", taking advantage of the superior climate conditions in Guangzhou, and massively simulating the original habitats of animals, providing numerous rare species with shelters and breeding grounds away from the wild, thus pioneering a new model for wildlife viewing and protection in China.

The Evolutionary Journey - The Development from a Single Park to the World-Class Longlong Wildlife World - is a narrative of continuous self-transcendence and leading industry standards.
- Founding and Establishment (1997-2004): Characterized by large-scale population release and self-driving viewing areas, it quickly became a popular tourist destination in South China and successfully bred a variety of rare animals.
- Benchmark Setting (2004-2014): In 2004, it led the way by introducing the Australian national treasure, the koala, establishing the first koala breeding center in China; in the same year, the world's only surviving triplet giant pandas "Mengshuaikuo" were born here, causing a sensation worldwide, marking its conservation and research capabilities reaching the world's top level.
- Dimensional Leap (Since 2014): In 2014, it was renamed "Longlong Wildlife World" and completed a major upgrade: opening an aerial cable car that runs throughout the park, providing a god's-eye view; creating immersive theme ecological areas such as the Panda Village, Jurassic Forest, and Golden Monkey Kingdom; continuously introducing rare species, and the park's design and visitor experience dimensions have been comprehensively enhanced, firmly ranking among the top global wildlife theme parks.

Must-see Wonder: A Symphony of Vitality in Life and Ecological Landscaping

Furong Ancient Town Furong Ancient Town Furong Ancient Town Furong Ancient Town

The wonder here lies in the "changing scenery as you move" – from the vast African grasslands to the dense Asian rainforests, from the air to the ground, every dimension is filled with the delightful surprises of life.

Nature Creation - A Miniature Scroll of Global Ecology The most impressive aspect of this park is that it transcends geographical boundaries, condensing the essence of global ecosystems into one place.
Tour by Vehicle (Traveling with Animals): Taking a special small train (or driving your own car) to explore this expansive area is the climax of the journey. You will pass through eight regions such as "Chinese Mountains", "South American Rainforest", and "East African Grassland" in sequence. Herds of antelopes and zebras stroll in front of the train, giraffes gracefully lower their heads to feed, ostriches curiously look around, and the white tigers and brown bears in the predator area rest not far away. This barrier-free and immersive viewing experience makes one feel as if they are right in front of the documentary scene.
Exploration by Foot (Seeking the Secret Places):
Panda Village: This is the home of the world's only triplets of giant pandas, "Mengshuaikuo", and it is also an important domestic panda conservation and education base. You can observe the complete daily routine of the adorable giant pandas eating bamboo, playing, and resting.
Koala Park: It has the largest koala population outside of Australia. These "sleeping gods" mostly sleep on eucalyptus trees for most of the time, and occasionally move around, their slow movements and cute expressions make people unable to hold back laughter.
Asian Elephant Park & White Tiger Hill: Watch the large Asian elephant family play in the water, witness the majestic figure of the "treasure of the park" white tiger, and watch the must-see white tiger diving performance, experiencing the might and agility of the king of beasts.
Aerial Cableway (Skyward Overview): The three lines of cableways are not only transportation means but also unique viewing platforms. Below you are lush forests, winding rivers, and groups of animals, experiencing the vastness and vitality of the animal kingdom from a new perspective.

Humanistic Craftsmanship - The Legendary Legend of Conservation and Ecology: The excellence of Longlong Park lies not only in its outstanding animal welfare, scientific conservation, and immersive experiences, but also in its ultimate pursuit of these aspects.
Ecological Landscape Art: Each exhibition area is not merely a simple enclosure, but a meticulously designed ecological environment. "Jurassic Forest" uses sound, light, and simulation mechanical technology to bring extinct dinosaurs back to life in the original jungle; "Rainforest Mystery" recreates the multi-layered ecology from the ground to the treetops, with various birds and primates living freely.
World-Class Conservation Achievements: This is not just a place for viewing, but a sacred land for the continuation of life. Besides the triplets of giant pandas, it also has a large population of various animals such as white tigers, koalas, black rhinos, and Malayan tapirs, with successful breeding records. The science popularization stations and explanatory signs in the park quietly tell the conservation stories behind each species.
Integration of Interaction and Education: In areas like "Jungle Discovery", one can observe the daily operations of the animal hospital through the glass and learn about the animal diet; in "Cute and Cool Park", children can feed the gentle little animals. This design ingeniously integrates fun interaction with life education.

Tour Tips:
For the vehicle area tour, it is recommended to go during the opening hours in the morning or before the closing hours in the afternoon. This way, the animal activities are more frequent and you can avoid the peak of the train queue;
For the aerial cable car, choosing the circular route allows you to enjoy a panoramic view of the entire park. The "transparent bottom" car provides a more thrilling viewing experience;
When photographing animals, be patient. Use a telephoto lens to capture the lively moments. Do not use flash to disturb the animals;
Pay attention to the schedule of animal behavior displays (such as the white tiger diving and the elephant science popularization), and plan your route accordingly.

Core Experience: Immersive Nature Exploration Guide

Five Must-Do Things to Unlock the Complete Wildlife World Tour
1. Take a ride on a miniature train and embark on a journey across the five continents.
Experience: This is absolutely the core of the experience. Sit on an open-air miniature train, listen to the guide tell animal stories, watch giraffes gracefully walk past the window, and see wildebeest herds galloping in the distance, feeling the call of the most primal wilderness.
2. Take the aerial cable car and overlook the Kingdom of Beasts from the clouds.
Key point: You absolutely must experience it! As the cable car slowly ascends, with the African savanna and Asian forests below, and swans swimming around you, the breathtaking panoramic view is unparalleled by any ground-based tour.
3. Visit the panda village and search for the "cute, handsome, and cool" triplets.
Cultural Interaction: In the Panda Village, brimming with Chinese charm, patiently search for the world's only panda triplets. Observe their distinct personalities and expressions, and learn about the miracles Chimelong has created in panda conservation.
4. Encountering visitors from Australia and visiting the sleepy koalas.
Fun Experience: At the koala enclosure, look up and search for those "sleepyheads" curled up in fluffy balls on eucalyptus branches. If you're lucky, you might even see an awake koala slowly chewing on leaves; its lazy cuteness can melt away all your worries.
5. Watch the white tiger dive and feel its power and agility.
Experience: Head to White Tiger Mountain and wait for the daily "White Tiger Diving" performance. Watch the king of beasts leap into the air and plunge into the water for food, splashing water everywhere, showcasing its amazing explosive power and swimming skills.

Travel Guide: Transportation, Accommodation and Season

How to get there:
The natural hub and the Happy World are both located within the resort area. The transportation network is consistent, making it extremely convenient.
Subway (most recommended): Take Guangzhou Metro Line 3 or Line 7 to Hanxi Changlong Station. Exit at either D or E and transfer to the free resort area shuttle bus to reach the South Gate or North Gate of the Zoo.
By car or taxi: Navigate to "North Gate of Changlong Wildlife World" or "South Gate". The North Gate is close to the self-driving entrance and the small railway station, making it an ideal starting point for an efficient tour. There is a parking lot within the resort area.
Shuttle bus to the resort: Guests staying at a hotel under the Longlong Group can take the free shuttle bus directly to the park.

Best Touring Period
The best time for touring is from autumn to spring (from October to the following April). During this period, the animals are most active. The Golden Season of Autumn (from October to February of the following year): Guangzhou has a cool and dry climate, and the animals have a strong desire for outdoor activities. The tourists also feel the most comfortable.
Spring (from March to April): The climate is pleasant. It is the breeding and raising season for many animals, and you may see cute baby animals.
Summer (from May to September): It is hot and rainy. Some animals prefer to rest in the shade. However, the park is lush with trees, and the indoor exhibits (such as the Panda Pavilion and Koala Pavilion) have sufficient air conditioning. Be sure to protect yourself from heat, sun, and mosquitoes.

Tickets and Tips:
There are discounts for purchasing tickets online in advance. You can also consider combo tickets for Happy World, Bird Park or Circus. The costs of the small train and cable car within the park are included in the ticket price.
Preferred accommodation - Hotels under Longhua Group: Longhua Hotel or Guangzhou Longhua Panda Hotel are the best choices. They have a strong theme atmosphere, offer multiple park connections, exclusive entrance channels and ticket package discounts, allowing you to enjoy the most complete vacation experience.
Accommodation nearby: There are a large number of guesthouses and hotels around the resort, with good value for money, but you need to handle the connections by yourself.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return. How to choose between Chimelong Safari Park and Chimelong Paradise?
How to choose between Chimelong Safari Park and Chimelong Paradise? What's the best arrangement for traveling with kids?
Answered by intotravelchina | November 14,2025 18:25
For families with young children, prioritize Chimelong Safari Park (featuring a self-drive zone and walking area, where you can see the giant panda triplets and the Koala Conservation Center). It’s recommended to arrive at 9 AM, rent a stroller, and follow this route: North Gate → Mini Train Safari → Qinglong Mountain → Sky Cable Car. If your children are older, you can add a visit to Chimelong Paradise (home to thrilling rides like the Vertical Loop Coaster and Giant Frisbee) in the afternoon, but this will require either two days or purchasing a "dual-park combo ticket."
