Nature's Creation–A Flowing Karst Peak Forest Landscape
The natural landscape of the Ten-Mile Gallery is a visual symphony of peaks, fields, rivers, and light and shadow. Its greatest charm lies not in any particular scenic spot, but in the constantly changing combination of scenery along the way,a different view at every step.
Peak Forest Wonders:A Sculptural Art Exhibition of Nature
Whether cycling or strolling through the gallery, each mountain peak along the way seems like a work of art meticulously sculpted by nature, with countless shapes that inspire imagination.
Camel Crossing the River:Located near Gongnong Bridge,it is one of the most famous sights in the gallery.A mountain peak resembles a giant camel about to wade across the river, its lifelike shape making it a must-visit spot for countless tourists and photographers.Xu Beihong's masterpiece,Qing'e Ferry, was created here, forever etching this spectacular scene into the history of Chinese art.
Moon Mountain:As the endpoint of the Ten-Mile Gallery, its summit features a naturally formed giant stone arch, resembling a bright moon hanging high in the sky from afar. You can walk along the"Moon Viewing Path"to observe the moon's phases from different angles and experience its unique phenomenon. This is also an internationally renowned rock climbing destination, attracting many top climbers from home and abroad.
Dolphin Emerging from the Water:On the west side of the gallery,a spindle-shaped mountain, tens of meters high and sculpted by thousands of years of weathering, stands alone, its unique posture resembling a dolphin leaping out of the water. It is the only mountain among the myriad Guishan peaks to resemble a marine animal.
Flame Mountain and Dragon Horn Mountain:Flame Mountain is named for the reddish sheen of its rocks under the sunlight;Dragon Horn Mountain, shaped like dragon horns,is sharp and upright, pointing straight to the sky, showcasing the grandeur of karst landforms.
The Vibrant Waters:A Pastoral Poem of the Yulong River
The Yulong River is the longest tributary of the Li River within Yangshuo County and the soul of the Ten-Mile Gallery. Its waters are crystal clear, like jade, rippling gently. The mountains on both banks are graceful and elegant, with drooping bamboo and rice paddies arranged in a picturesque manner.
Gongnong Bridge:This is the confluence of the Ten-Mile Gallery and the Yulong River, and is widely recognized as the best viewing platform.Standing on the bridge, you can enjoy the classic scene of bamboo rafts slowly drifting on the Yulong River, with the Camel Crossing the River Peak standing in the distance. At dusk, the setting sun casts its rays upon the water, creating shimmering waves, and the mountain shadows and bamboo rafts form a stunning backlit panorama.
Bamboo Rafting:Gently glide along the Yulong River on a bamboo raft propelled by hand. The raftman lightly pushes the raft with his pole, creating shimmering waves. The reflections of the green mountains on both banks are mirrored in the water, with ancient bridges, verdant bamboo groves, and villages creating a picturesque scene.Enjoy the poetic feeling of"boating on emerald waves, one is traveling in a painting."The entire journey is tranquil and serene, without the noise of the Li River, only the gentle sounds of flowing water and birdsong.
Chaoyang Dam and Shuangliu Yidu Pavilion:Along the walkway along the Yulong River, you can find many waterfront platforms. At Chaoyang Dam,you can take off your shoes and let your children play freely in the shallows. At Shuangliu Yidu Pavilion, you can take photos of the picturesque landscape through the pavilion's frame, capturing the essence of a Jiangnan water town.
Pastoral Scenery:A Breathing Green Carpet
The beauty of the Ten-Mile Gallery also lies in the perfect combination of mountains, water, fields, and gardens. On both sides of the road are expansive rice paddies, lush and green in spring and summer, and golden waves of rice in autumn, creating a vibrant tapestry of colors.Scattered throughout are quaint villages, with wisps of smoke rising from chimneys and the sounds of chickens and dogs, creating a tranquil and peaceful pastoral scene.Cycling here feels like being in a giant, breathing natural oxygen bar.
